Crochet and Knitting : My Newly Found Interest
Actually my first project was really the purple triangular stole, however, it's easier to finish the hat instead since I only need to use two rolls of yarn, while the stole needs 5 rolls of yarn. You can obviously see the imperfection of the hat, nevertheless, it's a good start isn't it.?

HOT!HOT!HOT!
My hubby is an avid fan of spicy food, thus from time to time, I would whip up some dishes that are really spicy. The spicy paste that I used was bought by my brother in law in Guangzhou.

Kuchinta
It's been a while since I moved to Singapore, so from time to time I would crave some of the food from my hometown, Philippines. And one of the food that I had been missing is kuchinta, made from rice flour and best topped with grated coconut. It's been a while since I was scouting for the grated coconut and never thought that my friend would find it in Cold Storage.

Angus Rib Eye Steak
Tonight, we tried the Angus beef that we bought recently from a meatshop referred by a friend. The quality is very good. My husband and I had fun in the kitchen, he being my assistant cuts the meat, and washes plates and cutleries that I used. Dinner was served in less than an hour.

Spicy Binagoongang Baboy
This is a known Filipino dish cooked in shrimp paste. I used Barrio Fiesta's spicy shrimp paste which I had brought along from the Philippines. The pork belly was fried with its own fat, and simmered with shrimp paste and coconut cream.

Tiger Prawn With Salted Egg
I love salted eggs. I love all the food that has salted eggs. Whether in a mooncake, as a side dish to go with tomatoes, with leafy vegetables or with any seafood. A simple salted egg can whip up well with different kind of dishes.
Tonight, my husband was looking forward to eat this dish served hot. He just can't wait to get home. =).

The sweetness of the fresh prawn together with the saltiness of the egg, makes a great combination.
The Taste Of Heaven
A fruit shake is a perfect drink for a hot and humid weather like Singapore. Among the fruit shake, avocado is my favorite. For my seven months of stay here in Singapore, I have not tasted a good avocado shake, the taste is blunt, very disappointing! Maybe because the avocados here are expensive, so they would always mix it with lots of sugar and water.
While I was doing my shopping at the grocery, I noticed that they are having a sale for avocados, 3 small african avocados are barely $3, while usually the cost of one piece is $2 or more. So I took the opportunity and bought some. This is my first time to buy African avocados. The seed is small, the skin is thin, the taste is heavenly =).

Omega 3
I was feeling lazy yesterday, so I decided to make a quick and simple dish - Baked Salmon with garlic, parsley flakes and olive oil. Sometimes I will use melted cheddar cheese for topping instead of garlic, but yesterday I opted for the healthier one. :)
I Am Popeye the Sailor Man
Everyone surely knows which is Pop-eye's magic vegetable that once he gulped it down, he becomes so strong and can easily defeat Brutus! Its SPINACH! :)

Since my family loves mushrooms, I decided to add some fresh shitake and topped it with spicy crispy prawn. Simply Nutritious!

Maki And More
My eldest son Koji is a big fan of california maki. So I gave in to his request one afternoon. I bought all the needed ingredients to make one. Not only that, I decided to make other dishes that will go with the theme. =). You can see I was in the mood to cook that day. Even I end up very tired. It's all worth it when you see your family enjoying the food you have made for them.

Risotto
| Beefy mushrooms risotto with brocolli topped with melted cheddar cheese and bacon bits |
Risotto is one of my favorite food. The first time I tasted it was with a friend back in the Philippines. The taste was awesome.! Due to my constant cravings, I attempted to make one few months back. It was the chicken risotto with chopped portobello mushrooms and potatoes. Today, I have another cravings and decided to use beef instead of chicken. I just love to create varieties =). The result was TADA.....!!!!! My kids love it, and requested to have it again tomorrow night. I said "okey!" because there are still some leftovers that they can enjoy tomorrow night.
